Workflow plan
Introduction
A business process or a business method is a collection of related and structured "Task (project management)" activities or tasks that in a specific sequence produces a service or product (meets a particular business objective) for a specific customer or customers. with data-driven relevance rules in the process.[2][3][4][5] The benefits of using business processes include greater customer satisfaction and greater agility to react to rapid market change.[1][2] Process-oriented organizations break down structural department barriers and try to avoid functional silos").[6].
Overview
A business process begins with a mission objective (an external event) and ends with the achievement of the business objective of providing a result that provides value to the customer. Additionally, a process can be divided into subprocesses (process decomposition), the particular internal functions of the process. Business processes can also have a process owner, a party responsible for ensuring that the process runs smoothly from start to finish.[2].
In general terms, business processes can be organized into three types, according to von Rosing et al:[6].
-
- The operational processes, which constitute the core business and create the primary flow of value, e.g., taking orders from customers, opening an account, and manufacturing a component.
-
- Management processes"), the processes that supervise operational processes, including corporate governance, budgetary supervision and employee supervision.
-
- Support processes, which support the main operational processes, e.g., accounting, recruiting, call center, technical support, and security training.
A slightly different approach to these three types is offered by Kirchmer:[2].
-
- Operational processes, which focus on the correct execution of an entity's operational tasks; This is where the staff "get things done".
-
- Management processes, which guarantee that operational processes are carried out appropriately; This is where managers "ensure efficient and effective work processes."
