Generation

Generation consists of carrying out any type of activity that produces household waste, whether in large quantities (waste generated by supermarkets, hospitals and hotels), or in small quantities (waste generated by households). The principle of minimization is the action of reducing the volume and danger of solid waste to the minimum possible, through any preventive strategy, procedure, method or technique used in the generating activity. The actions most used to reduce the amount of waste generated are based on the application of the principle or rule of the three Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle).[6]​.

The most common centers for the final disposal of household or urban waste are "Landfill (garbage)" landfills, which are places where the final disposal of solid waste on the ground takes place, with the aim of not causing inconvenience, dangers to public health and safety or damage to the environment.[2][8]​.
