Mandatory in European countries
In accordance with the (CPR) Construction Products Regulation No. 305/2011, it is mandatory for Fire Alarm systems certified to EN 54 by an Authorized Certification Body established by the European Committee for Standardization.
This is the only way to secure the CE mark on the product, which recognizes that the product meets all required safety and conformity requirements and allows the free movement of goods in the European Union.
Therefore, the CE mark is the only legally required condition for marketing fire products in the EU. Any other quality seal is “voluntary” and cannot replace the CE mark. This means that the other quality seals will be based on the EN 54 standard.
The other quality seals will have very restricted implementation of changes because they cannot deviate from the requirements of the mandatory regulations.
This standard ensures the free movement of all construction products within the EU by harmonizing laws regarding the requirements applicable to construction products in terms of health and safety.
Construction products can be marketed and installed on the European market only if they meet the specified requirements for their use.
