Video Surveillance Ordinance
Introduction
Roberto Sukerman (Rosario "Rosario (Argentina)", March 8, 1975) is an Argentine politician, teacher, and constitutional lawyer. Since 2022 he is the current Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security "Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (Argentina)").
Biography
Sukerman was born in the city of Rosario "Rosario (Argentina)"), province of Santa Fe, on March 8, 1975. In 1998 he graduated as a lawyer from the Faculty of Law of the National University of Rosario and began to practice the profession, specializing in the area of Constitutional Law.
In December 2011 he assumed his first term as councilor of the city of Rosario. He presented various initiatives that were approved, among which the video surveillance ordinance stands out, and Rosario Alerta 2.0, whose principles are based on the creation of a unified software system for making complaints in situations of insecurity. In addition, it created the ordinance for the Decentralization of Defenders and Prosecutors' Offices in the districts. He is also the author of the Municipal Police project, the only one currently under debate in the Legislature of the province of Santa Fe.
In 2015, Sukerman ran as a candidate for mayor of Rosario within the Justicialist Front for Victory, winning the April 19 elections with the Primero Santa Fe list, which allowed him to become the candidate for mayor of local Peronism. In the general elections, she obtained 23% of the votes and was among the three most voted, behind the PRO candidate Ana Laura Martínez and the mayor Mónica Fein, who was re-elected for the 2015-2019 period.
In 2017, he took office again as a councilor and among the most outstanding projects is his proposal to municipalize Urban Passenger Transport,[1] the freezing of ticket prices in the face of the removal of subsidies by Mauricio Macri's government, and the approval of the gender parity ordinance for local elective positions.[2].
In 2019 Sukerman ran again as a candidate for mayor of Rosario. In the June 16 elections he came second, losing by a narrow margin to candidate Pablo Javkin.[3].
During the administration of Governor Omar Perotti,[4] he took over as Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security of the province of Santa Fe first, and as Minister of Government, Justice, Human Rights and Diversity later.[5].
