Vibratory densification
Introduction
A roller, roller or static compactor is a heavy machine that produces soil densification mainly by its own weight. There are different types of static compactors: static rollers with smooth rollers, static roller compactors with roller legs, static compactors with pneumatic wheels, mesh or share rollers, and impact compactors with a lobular profile roller.
Uses
Rollers are used in construction to compact materials. They are essential during road construction, both in the sub-base and in asphalt mixtures, and are also used to smooth surfaces or other types of tasks in various works. For the compaction of cohesive materials such as clay, steamrollers with protruding elements on the surface of the cylinder are used, and it is common to call them "dockleg".
Characteristics
Currently it is normal for compaction to be achieved by means of a vibrating element located inside the cylinder, increasing the capacity to compact or reducing the necessary weight. This arrangement also allows the manufacture of lightweight equipment capable of operating in small areas.
