Urbanism as health
Introduction
A healthy city is one that involves population groups in defined spaces seeking equity in health; "it is a living city"), which offers its inhabitants healthy spaces").
These spaces occur when living conditions are favorable in terms of opportunities for individual and collective development within a physical, social, environmental and cultural environment. Therefore, the environment assumes a very important role when talking about health, and its development requires time, patience, political help, a balanced ecosystem and good social organization.
Background
There are many challenges to improve this environment such as: pollution, violence, lack of recreational places that help recreation and make life healthier; Municipalities do not always develop parks and safe public spaces that allow healthy physical exercise, for all economic possibilities. It also has an added complexity resulting from contemplating the different vital functions, including residential, services and equipment, productive), leisure and cultural functions and betting on fully equipped neighborhoods and urban environments, maintaining the resident population and improving the use of its urban and heritage resources.
Experiences
It is necessary to analyze the capacity of the actions to improve health or a healthy environment and with the aim of delimiting the common scope of work between two of the Ministries of the Government of Andalusia, whether the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning, a workshop entitled Living City-Healthy City: A shared view is held.[1]
A pioneering project that brings two administrations to the same table with a single theme: the need to establish criteria oriented towards the revitalization of the city built from public policies and management models; and, whose purpose is the search for healthy environments for the city.
