urban road design
Introduction
In urban planning and mobility, the concept of complete street refers to the design of an urban road that allows accessible, safe, comfortable and direct movements "Permeability (transport)") for all possible users, regardless of their ability, age or means of transportation.[1][2][3][4][5].
The concept is used for large avenues and streets, which should include, in addition to the road, pedestrian sidewalks with trees, "Banco (furniture)" benches and zebra crossings every certain distance, safe and interconnected cycle paths for cyclists and exclusive bus lanes or tram lines so that public transport is efficient by avoiding private transport traffic jams.[6][7].
The concept of a complete street is complementary to that of a residential street and pedestrian street for narrower streets, where the priority is for the pedestrian and there is no differentiation of areas for each user.[8].
