urban parks
Introduction
An urban park (also called public garden, municipal park or public park) is a park located in an urban center, with public access to its visitors and usually owes its design and maintenance to public authorities; generally municipal. Regularly, these types of parks include in their furniture, games, duly marked and signposted paths, large green areas, public bathrooms, lighting, etc., depending on the budget and natural characteristics; Even so, they can receive millions of visits annually.[1].
Urban parks are important elements in the urban layout due to the potential environmental, social and economic benefits they can produce. For these reasons, it is important to recognize that park planning should be a subject of study and research in urban planning and urban planning schools. Equally important is to recognize that these spaces must contemplate the recreational use that many social groups give them since the objective of parks is to provide a recreational service that meets the needs and tastes of potential users.[2].
Other types of parks include "Greenway (Landscape)" greenways (or linear parks)) and pocket parks, which were created due to the absence of available recreational areas and the rising cost of land, particularly between the skyscrapers in the center of each city.[3].
