urban-rural space
Introduction
A rururban space is a previously totally rural territory that is currently used for industrial or urban purposes. That is, a non-urban space in which, next to agricultural fields, there are agricultural facilities, highways, photovoltaic fields, wastewater treatment plants, high voltage lines, greenhouses, sports facilities, etc. Likewise, it is assumed as a space where dynamics typical of the city and others typical of the countryside converge, a hybrid between the urban and the rural.
In some countries, rural areas are usually identified with the urban periphery or suburban settlements of cities, where there is a progressive transformation in land use.
Origin
Rururban spaces have a recent origin, but they are becoming more frequent and show that the old dichotomy between the rural and urban world can no longer continue to be valid to study the settlement of a territory.
