Training project
Introduction
Project-based learning (PBL)[1] consists of a task-focused teaching and learning modality, a shared negotiation process between participants, with its main objective being to obtain a final product. This method promotes individual and autonomous learning within a work plan defined by objectives and procedures. Students take responsibility for their own unique learning, discovering their preferences and strategies in the process. Likewise, they can participate in decisions related to the content and evaluation of learning.[2].
Project-based learning is a methodology that is developed collaboratively that confronts students with situations that lead them to propose proposals regarding a certain problem. We understand a project as the set of activities articulated together, in order to generate products, services or understandings capable of solving problems, or satisfying needs and concerns, considering the resources and time allocated.[3].
In this methodology, learning knowledge has the same importance as acquiring skills and attitudes. It is important to understand that it is a methodology and not an instructional strategy.[4] It is also considered a learning strategy,[5] in which students face a project that they must develop.[6].
It involves sustaining learning based on the senses. Give prominence to the students, avoiding their passive role in the content system and working from their active and critical participation so that they achieve the key aspects defined in the project. Education confirms this process as something fundamental to achieve democratic citizens with scientific thinking.
Each student has a unique brain and brain plasticity ensures its development. For this reason, we must enable each person to achieve their development by taking control of their own learning.[7] PBL allows all students to learn, in an inclusive way, socially constructing knowledge.[8].
Project-based learning or PBL is one of the learning methodologies created with the functionality of giving a more active role to the student and changing the traditional system. It was developed due to constant dissatisfaction on the part of teachers and students.[9].
Project-based learning in early childhood and primary education
In education in general, for some time now, the idea of valuing articulated work between the different levels of education has been consolidated, with the active participation of the family and community of the children served in the system. Therefore, different actions show progress in these matters. That is why the Venezuelan educational system has been incorporating and modifying curricular designs in recent years from the first levels of education, starting from Initial and passing through Primary, Basic and Diversified, all in order to improve the pedagogical practices that they receive and promote the comprehensive development of boys and girls who are currently enrolled in school.
