thermal loads
Introduction
A thermal load or thermal stress is a force, request or indirect action that appears in a resistant structure as a result of expansion. That is, when heat is applied to a resistant element it experiences temperature changes and deforms as a consequence of them, this deformation alters the distribution of stresses in the body. The result of the new stress distribution are loads and efforts not directly exerted by any external agent but that have an effect that can affect the structural resistance.
