Texture (Visual and Tactile)
Introduction
Texture synthesis is the process of creating a large digital image from a small digital image by an algorithm. This is not a coarsening due to a change in resolution but rather an imitation of the image content.
Use
The most important use of texture synthesis is in the production of digital images. Here it is used to fill gaps or to thicken an image. It can also be used to create large images as backgrounds.

Contenido
Se usan los siguientes algoritmos para la síntesis de textura: Tiling, Chaos Mosaic, Texture Growth y Quilting.
Tiling
Tiling is the simplest form of texture synthesis. The original image is repeating a texture of the desired size that is created. The results are low quality, repetitive and with very unpleasant visual artifacts, but the algorithm is fast. That's why tiling is used only in situations where those disadvantages don't matter; for example, for textures away from the viewer.
