Community Family Health Center, provides basic health care and works alongside a CES or CESFAM, depending on them for more complex services. It aims to bring health care even closer to people. Due to its proximity to the community and the joint definition of the actions granted there, the CECOSF aims to resolve in a more timely manner the demand for health needs of the population in charge.

They are open during business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and in extended hours until 8:00 p.m. Population in charge: between 2 thousand and 30 thousand inhabitants, approximately.

A Community Family Mental Health Center, COSAM, is defined as an outpatient care establishment, dedicated to the area of ​​mental health and psychiatry, which supports and complements the clinics of the commune in which it operates.

The COSAMs are a fundamental node in the community mental health reform to satisfy the various requirements in mental health and psychiatry, in order to respond to the growing and complex territorial demand for care of pathologies of moderate and severe intensity that until that moment were absorbed by the PHC centers or by the Psychiatry Services of hospitals. In this way, COSAM emerges as a family mental health center of secondary complexity level that allows providing a specialty response on an outpatient basis to users of a commune with the presence of mental health pathology as well as support, education and guidance to their families and caregivers.

COSAM provides care to users residing in the commune, beneficiaries of FONASA or PRAIS, registered and referred from CESFAM, neighborhood medical offices or stations, as well as hospitals, Family Courts and other instances of the judiciary for evaluations.

It is an outpatient care facility for assigned populations of no more than 40,000 inhabitants, which may be attached to a low-complexity hospital.

They are mostly administered by municipalities.

General Offices

It is the outpatient care establishment located in towns with more than 20,000 inhabitants and serving an attraction area, ideally no more than 50,000 inhabitants. Its actions include the promotion, prevention and protection of the health of people and the environment of the locality and the resolution of health problems of that same population and of that of the attraction area that arrives through

reference. The capacity for outpatient health resolution will be determined by the complexity of the resources that the office has.

The Urban General Practice team will be made up of general doctors and dentists, plus professionals and technicians (nurses, midwives, nutritionists, etc.) to which will be added the medical technologist for the management of the basic laboratory that the establishment may have.

It is an outpatient care facility generally located in towns with 2,000 to 5,000 inhabitants and that provides services to the population of a given area that does not exceed 20,000 inhabitants.

The actions of the Rural General Clinic include both the promotion, prevention and protection of the health of people and the environment, as well as the resolution of health problems that can be handled by the health team made up of a doctor, dentist, nurse midwife, other professionals and technicians supported by basic means of diagnosis and treatment.

The basic rehabilitation units (UBR), which is the physical space assigned to the CBR or CCR rooms, are considered in those primary health care establishments and community family health hospitals that have an assigned population greater than 12,000 people. The basic professional resource of these UBR is an occupational therapist and a kinesiologist; if the assigned population is greater than 30,000, a second kinesiologist is considered. These centers work based on the Community-Based Rehabilitation Strategy (CBR) proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Emergency Services

A Primary Emergency Care Service (SAPU) is a health establishment that offers care for urgent/emergency1 needs of low complexity, which is located attached to a Primary Care Health Center or in an annex location. It depends technically and administratively on the latter or, failing that, on whoever the local health authority determines, and fulfills the function of providing emergency/medical urgency services during non-business hours.

The SAPU is a component of the Emergency Network and, given its location at the primary level, it has the obligation to ensure the population immediate access to medical care, resolving health problems pertinent to its resolution capacity and/or referring cases that cannot be resolved at that level in a coordinated manner with the other establishments of the local Network.

• - Short SAPU: Monday to Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

• - Long SAPU: Monday to Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. the next day. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. the next day.
