Technical training programs
Introduction
The Japan International Cooperation Agency, better known by the acronym JICA, is an independent agency that coordinates Japan's official international public assistance.
It is aimed at helping the economic and social development of developing countries and promoting international cooperation.
The current agency was created on October 1, 2003 with the project defined in 2002 by the Law of the independent agency of the national cooperation government.
Since April 1, 2012, it has been chaired by Professor Akihiko Tanaka"), Vice President of the University of Tokyo.
Aim
A growing number of JICA's programs and projects focus on "human security."
The former president of JICA, Sadako Ogata, indicated in this regard that "The recent concept of "human security" empowers local communities to have a greater participation in their own future by strengthening grassroots programs, such as improving health and education projects."
Technical training programs
JICA offers technical training for participants from developing countries in a wide range of fields, including medical, industrial and agricultural training.
