Introduction
The construction supervisor is a professional figure, chosen by the owner of a construction project, to represent him in the monitoring and control of the work entrusted to a builder or construction company.
The tasks of the construction supervisor are multiple, and to perform them, depending on the complexity of the work, it may be required that the supervision of the work be carried out by an entire multidisciplinary team.[1] In these cases, the team leader is called the construction supervisor.

Particularities by country
Spain
The construction manager, within the framework of the Spanish Building Planning Law, is the technical representative of the builder on the construction site. Due to their qualifications or experience, they must have adequate training according to the characteristics and complexity of the work. It should not be confused with the work supervisor who represents the owner of the work.
Peru
Within the framework of the construction laws of Peru, it is established that, in public or private entities, the head of works, also called "chief supervisor" must not necessarily have a professional degree, but it is recommended that he have studies related to civil engineering, for which relatively small entities must consider in their Organization and Functions Manual that the candidate for head of works preferably has technical or university studies, and the position can be entrusted to any official who has knowledge of said position.
