Study space
Introduction
A study is a room designed for study.
It is usually the room in the home that is used to do intellectual work, read or work on the computer.
Historically, the study of an upper social class house, whether or not it coincided with the library, was reserved for the father of the family to use as a private office and reading room. In the middle class homes of today's society, the reduction in the average size of families sometimes allows a room to be dedicated to this type of use shared by the entire family, or the bedroom is used for that purpose.
A studio usually contains specific furniture (at least a table or desk and a chair and usually shelves for books) and an appropriate lighting system, and, where appropriate, the computer equipment available.
Studio as a micro-housing
Studio or apartment-studio is also the name given to a very small-sized home, designed for a single person or at most a couple, and consisting of only one room with or without separation from some other auxiliary unit, such as the bathroom or the kitchen "Kitchen (room)"), if these types of services are available.
Other names used are mini-housing and micro-housing.[1].
Do not confuse studio apartments with other types of open-plan but much more spacious homes, such as those called loft.
The rental of studio apartments for temporary stays is common, making up the majority of the offer in tourist areas. However, in recent years there has been an increase in the use of this type of dependency as a habitual residence in some large cities due to the exacerbated increase in the price of conventional housing; Some of them have proven to lack a certificate of habitability and the size and conditions necessary for the normal development of their inhabitants.
