Rural economy (RE) is the branch of microeconomics, in the economic science that studies the spatial structure of the rural environment. It studies the rural economic structure, the economic impact on the rural sector, the interrelation between rural economic activities (primary production and rural work), traditional production (peasant economy, family agriculture, cultural crafts, ...), rural economic problems/challenges (impact of climate change, electrification, agricultural commercialization, poverty, unemployment, literacy, rural construction, rural depopulation, aging of the rural population, ...), use of rural space, the construction of economic mechanisms for rural development (microcredit, rural finance, rural construction, rural entrepreneurship or rural businesses, development of local capacities, rural tourism, access to natural resources, agricultural policy).[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12].
