Stock Break
Introduction
A stock out or out-of-stock or out-of-stock incident (OOS) is an event that causes an inventory or stock to be depleted. While out-of-stocks can occur throughout the entire supply chain, the most visible type of stockout is retail in the fast-moving consumer goods industry (e.g., candy, diapers, fruit). Stockout is the opposite of overstocking, where too much inventory is held.
