Staking
Introduction
In a work, the layout or layout is the process of defining and measuring on a piece of land the dimensions of the work where the construction will be carried out. The shape of the perimeter of the work is drawn and the axes and/or contours where the foundation must be located are indicated: the walls, footings, slabs, piles, etc.
Process
To carry out the layout or layout, you must first have the dimensions of the work drawn on a plane; Then geometric methods are applied to draw the perimeter based on the scale and measurements of the plans.
Rods are inserted into the ground to indicate the vertices and joining them with burst thread helps us to indicate the sides, according to the plan. Sometimes the dimensions and axes are marked with powdered plaster to form visible lines.
Consequences of a bad stroke
If the dimensions of a work are drawn incorrectly, this would cause the axes and/or contours where the foundation should be located to be incorrectly located, this would give rise to the possibility of a structural failure and, consequently, the possible collapse of the work.
