Services at height
Introduction
A lifting platform, or better referred to as "mobile personnel elevating platform" (MEWP), is a mechanical device designed to lift people to different heights.
depending on your need or type of work you want to do
According to Royal Decree 2291/1985, the mobile personnel elevating platform (MEP) is a mobile machine designed to move people and small tools to a working position, with a defined entry and exit position of the platform; It consists of at least a work platform with service organs, an extendable structure and a chassis.
They are generally used for industrial work at height, and that require freedom of movement. They have a basket where the operator operates the machine thanks to a control panel, controlling parameters such as height, angle, position or speed.
Typology
Depending on your lifting system:
According to its translation system:
Usual classification according to the form of stabilization:.
-Self-stable platform.
-Platform with telescopic stabilizers.
Usual classification according to their diet:.
·Electric platform.
·Diesel platform (diesel combustion engine).
·Hybrid platform with diesel thermal engine and set of traction batteries.
The different lifting and translation systems are combined on the market to satisfy all needs. It is also common to combine articulated types and telescopes to obtain greater versatility.
Furthermore, they can be incorporated on a truck, adding the mobility of the vehicle to that of the machine and are called truck-mounted platforms.
Normally the machine is autonomous in terms of mobility, and is provided by an electric motor or diesel internal combustion engine. The first case allows the machine to work in closed environments where smoke from the combustion engine could be a problem for the operator.
Classification according to UNE EN 280:2014 standard.
The UNE EN 280:2014 standard defines “Mobile personnel lifting platform” as “The mobile machine intended to move people to a work position, where they carry out a task from the platform, with the intention that people enter and leave the work platform in a defined access position of the platform, which consists of at least a work platform with controls, an extendable structure and a chassis.”
