Serious Workplace Accident
Introduction
Work accident is any sudden event that occurs due to or on the occasion of work, and that produces a serious injury, disability, chronic illness or even the death of a worker.
A work accident is also one that occurs during the execution of orders from the employer, or contractor during the execution of a task under his authority, even outside the place and hours of work.
A commuting accident or in itinere accident is one that occurs during the
transfer of the worker from his residence to the workplace or vice versa, provided that the journey has not been interrupted for particular reasons. Legislation may establish its equation with a work accident for legal purposes.
Any accident that occurred during the year will also be considered a work accident.

According to the Occupational Risk Law (No. 24557), Chapter III -Art 6 defines a work accident as “any sudden and violent event that occurs due to the event or on the occasion of work, or on the journey between the worker's home and the place of work, as long as the injured party has not interrupted or altered said journey for reasons unrelated to work.” ...
