SATE System (Exterior Insulation)
Introduction
The Exterior Thermal Insulation System (SATE or EIFS for its acronym in English) qualifies a set of construction solutions that have in common providing the necessary on their exterior face; as a thermal envelope. It was born as a façade rehabilitation resource providing energy savings and is currently also applied in new construction due to its proven advantages.
It originated in Central Europe around 1950 to protect against the cold and as energy savings in architecture. It is currently used all over the world, also in dry areas like Dubai, for protection against heat.
The combination on site of several materials forms the system:.
Silicone resin plasters and paints, thanks to nanotechnological development, have a very high waterproofing capacity, but at the same time they are very breathable. For this reason, they get very little dirty and are very resistant to weather conditions, maintaining their hydrophobicity and chromatic inalterability over time.
SATE Systems must be applied by specialized companies, since there are steps to follow that guarantee the correct functioning of said systems.
