Rigid Pavements
Introduction
In civil engineering, the pavement injection operation aims to consolidate the base of the pavement (base on which the tiles are installed), by introducing a material sufficiently rigid to absorb the vertical movements of the slab produced as a result of the sudden impact of heavy vehicles.
The properties of this material do not lie so much in its own resistance, but rather in its ability to fill gaps.
The injection of firming c. traditional systems
When the problem of the pavement lies in the base, due to a high void rate, the entire structural rehabilitation is achieved with injection. In any case, if it were also necessary to improve surface irregularities, it would be solved using only a thin layer of chipboard.
The usual technique of covering the pavement with a considerable layer of chipboard is, in addition to being considerably more expensive, much less effective in the medium and long term since the structural problem is not resolved.
Phases of pavement injection
Contenido
La inyección de firmes consta de las siguientes fases:.
Drilling
Drills are made in the slabs that will allow the subsequent injection of the material to be introduced.
Blown
After drilling, the next step is blowing, which allows the drills to be cleaned of solid waste from the drilling and facilitates communication between them.
Sealed
Sealing has the purpose of preventing grout leaks, and consists of ensuring the tightness of the joints.
