Reinforced earth wall system
Introduction
The Elevado La Yaguara is a road infrastructure located on Intercomunal de Antímano Avenue, Libertador municipality of Caracas. It was built by the Ministry of Popular Power for Land Transportation and Public Works of the National Executive of Venezuela.
This reinforced concrete elevation was part of the road solutions for Caracas and other cities in the country, approved by the government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros to be executed between 2013 and 2015 with the aim of improving traffic routes and reducing traffic congestion.
BsF was invested for the execution of this work. 75 million.[1] It was made entirely by Venezuelan personnel, with nationally manufactured materials. It became the first concrete elevated building in the Libertador municipality, since the previous ones were made exclusively of metal structures.
Background
One of the major problems in the city of Caracas has been traffic congestion, due to the uncontrolled growth of urban areas, the lack of adequate roads and the lack of an adequate public transportation system. With the growth of the vehicle fleet, the collapse in travel was notable, especially in the popular areas to the west of the city.
The population density in the communities of La Yaguara, Antímano, Carapita and El Junquito exceeded the capacity of the Antímano Intercomunal Avenue, generating strong delays at the intersection with García González Da Silva Avenue, which leads to the Junquito Highway and the La Yaguara Distributor that connects with Montalban and the Francisco Fajardo Highway.
To improve traffic, in 2013, the National Executive "National Executive Power (Venezuela)") approved the Road Solutions Plan for Caracas and other cities in the country, said program was executed by the then Minister of Popular Power for Land Transportation and Public Works, Haiman El Troudi.[2].
The project contemplated the construction of an elevated road on Intercomunal de Antímano Avenue that would allow uninterrupted traffic in an east-west and west-east direction, which would improve movement towards the El Junquito highway and the vehicular load coming from the Francisco Fajardo highway.[3].
