Regulation by country
In each country, the activity is governed by a particular law, and there is no law that regulates real estate issues worldwide.
In Spain, to be able to practice as a real estate agent, you must be registered in the Registry of Real Estate Agents"), a registry whose purpose is to promote transparency in the real estate sector and guarantee consumer protection.[7][8].
In Mexico, there are associations such as the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals and the Association of Professionals in Real Estate Marketing that seek to professionalize and protect consumers through the formalization of the profession of Real Estate Agent.
In Chile, the activity of property brokerage is not regulated, but there are associations such as the National Chamber of Real Estate Services of Chile – ACOP, the Círculo de Corredores de Propiedades and the Guild Association of Property Brokers of Chile – Coproch, which seek to improve the standard of property brokerage in the country, so that clients can feel confident that they are served by professional and trustworthy companies.
In the Dominican Republic, the activity of the real estate agent is not regulated by law. Consequently, a license issued by the State is not required to practice this trade. However, there is a National Association of Real Estate Agents and Entrepreneurs (AEI). The AEI seeks to integrate and harmonize the actors that converge in the marketing and sale of properties.
In Ecuador it is a requirement to obtain the Professional Real Estate Broker License, and comply with the provisions of Article 77 of the Commercial Code in Ecuador.
