Preparation of studies
Introduction
Research is the creative and systematic work carried out to increase knowledge.[1] It involves the collection, organization and analysis of information to increase understanding of a topic or problem. A research project can be an expansion of previous work in the field. To test the validity "Validity (logical)") of instruments, procedures or experiments, the research may reproduce elements of previous projects or the project as a whole.
Scientific research is the general name given to the complex process, in which scientific advances are the result of the application of the scientific method to solve problems or try to explain certain observations.[2] Likewise, technological research uses scientific knowledge for the development of soft or hard technologies, as well as cultural research, whose object of study is culture. In addition, there is also technical-police investigation and detective and police investigation "Detective (investigator)") and educational investigation.
Definitions
Research has been defined in a number of different ways, and while there are similarities, there does not appear to be a single, all-encompassing definition that is adopted by everyone involved in it.
Research in simplest terms is seeking knowledge and seeking truth. In a formal sense, it is a systematic study of a problem attacked by a deliberately chosen strategy that begins with the choice of an approach to prepare a blueprint (design) and act on it in terms of designing research hypotheses, choosing methods and techniques, selecting or developing tools for data collection, data processing, interpretation and ends with the presentation of solution(s) to the problem.[3].
Another definition of research is given by John W. Creswell"), who states that "research is a process of steps used to collect and analyze information to increase our understanding of a topic or problem." It consists of three steps: posing a question, collecting data to answer the question, and presenting an answer to the question.[4].
The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines research in more detail as "meticulous inquiry or examination; especially: investigation or experimentation directed at the discovery and interpretation of facts, revision of accepted theories or laws in the light of new facts, or practical application of such new or revised theories or laws."[5].
