Introduction
Dubai Exhibition City will be built within the Jebel Ali International Airport, Dubai. Covering more than 3 million square feet the entire project is expected to cost Dh8 billion. Dubai Exhibition City will be built in stages and the first phase is scheduled to be completed in 2009, covering an area of 100,000 square meters and providing a parking space for more than 20,000 cars. The final phase is expected expected to be completed in 2020. The project includes 19 showrooms, offices, entertainment and retail spaces, and hotels and restaurants.
Dubai City Exhibition when completed will house the worlds longest column of a single free exhibition hall in the world, which will cover an area of 85,000 square meters.
The first phase, which is expected to be completed by 2009, will host Dubai Airshow.
