Introduction
Duarte is one of the 32 provinces of the Dominican Republic. It was named in honor of Juan Pablo Duarte, father of the country of this country. In this same city, the National parade takes place in commemoration of Duarte's birth.
On January 26 of each year, hundreds of thousands of people gather in the central park of this city to witness the National parade; San Francisco de Macorís being the capital of the Duarte province.
History
At the time of colonization of a group of aborigines of the type called macorixes who inhabited the eastern region of the island of Hispaniola.[4].
In the century, a chapel was founded for the Lady of Santa Ana"), built in what is today the Rincón San Francisco de Macorís. By the century it was admitted as a parish and later converted into the district of La Vega. Through the Haitian occupation, San Francisco was classified as a common part of the Canton of Santiago. When the independence of the Dominican Republic was proclaimed, Duarte") was the first town in Cibao that rose up in favor of the feat of the Puerta del Conde. After the republic had been established, Duarte") became a common member of La Vega.
In 1896 San Francisco became the head of the Peacemaker district—this name was given in honor of President Ulises Heureaux "Lilís", who was given the title of Peacemaker of the Homeland. On June 7, 1907 it became a province with the same name as Pacificador. On November 26, 1925, the name of Pacificador Province was changed to Duarte Province,[5] in honor of the Father of the Nationality, Juan Pablo Duarte.[6].

The Duarte province has 1605.35 km². It is divided into seven municipalities and eleven municipal districts.[7].
