Occupancy architecture
Introduction
In urban planning, occupancy is a parameter that determines the number of square meters that a building can have in plan (in its projection on the land) with respect to the surface of said land. It is usually given as a percentage coefficient.
Occupation is defined in Spain by the Municipal Urban Planning Regulations for a piece of land and is mandatory when carrying out any type of project on it in order to obtain the corresponding construction license.
It should not be confused with buildability.
