The San Sebastián Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSASS), located on the Guipúzcoa campus, is a center belonging to the University of the Basque Country. It was created in 1977, being subordinated to the Barcelona School of Architecture for the first year. Since 1982 it was incorporated into the structure of the University of the Basque Country.
Construction
The architects Miguel Garay") and Santos Barea") designed the building in 1992, and it can be classified within the Tendenza movement of postmodern architecture. The center is made up of five floors, including the basement. Apart from the classrooms, there is a auditorium named after the Basque architect Luis Peña Ganchegui, a calculation center with 85 computers, model building rooms, etc. The School Library was located on the fourth floor, which was moved when the central library was built on the Guipúzcoa campus.

En la actualidad, en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de San Sebastián se obtiene el título de Arquitecto en la especialidad de edificación. Las asignaturas que se imparten entre otras son: Proyectos arquitectónicos, Construcción, Urbanismo, Estructuras, Instalaciones, Arte, Dibujo, Geometría descriptiva, Matemáticas aplicadas y Física aplicada.
Study Plan
Starting in 2003, the New Plan was implemented, with which the degree is divided into five courses. Apart from the final year project, there are three types of subjects at the school: Core subjects (taught in all architecture schools in Spain), compulsory, optional and free choice.
