Michael Dell (dell Technologies, Investor)
Introduction
Michael Saul Dell (Houston, February 23, 1965) is an American businessman, investor, and philanthropist. He is the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Dell Inc., one of the world's leading computer vendors.
When he was 19, he thought it would be easy to improve the quality of computers. He began purchasing excess inventory material from computer equipment sellers, and used it to improve the machines that he then sold. While in college, he started a computer company called PC Limited in his dorm room. By the time he was 21, his company was billing millions.[1] In 1987 the company name changed to Dell Computer Corporation.
His personal fortune is estimated, according to Forbes magazine, in millions (2013). He is ranked number 49 among the largest personal fortunes in the world. As of February 2023, his fortune amounts to one billion.[2].
Biography
He attended Herod Elementary School in Houston.
At the age of 15 he got his first computer, an Apple II, which he quickly took apart to see how it worked and it no longer worked.
