History
In the early 1990s, the mayor of Pontevedra Javier Cobián, together with the Department of Territorial Planning of the Government of Galicia and the Chamber of Commerce of Pontevedra, promoted the creation of the O Campiño industrial estate. On October 11, 1993, the first stone of the industrial estate was laid in the A Reigosa area. On November 29, 1996, the first company was inaugurated in the industrial park, the Harinas Reyes Hermanos factory in Pontevedra.[2][3].
On March 4, 2011, a large expansion of the industrial estate was inaugurated,[2] bordering the PO-0206 to the west and the climb to the Baltar site to the south.
In January 2024, the expansion of the industrial estate by an additional 342,215 square meters was unlocked.[4] In October 2025 it was made public that the expansion project of the O Campiño Business Park, promoted by the Regional Government of Galicia and the Pontevedra City Council, will finally create 160,044 square meters of business land. With an investment of 11.6 million euros and the management of The plan, articulated through the Structural Planning Plan for Business Only (Peose), is in the processing phase and will be subjected to a strategic environmental evaluation before its initial approval, scheduled for 2026.[5].
