Location Code (Warehouse)
Introduction
The GLN or Global Location Number code is one of the identification keys of the GS1 standards which is used to uniquely and unambiguously identify each of the physical or digital locations, legal entities of companies, as well as a warehouse, a receiving platform or an entire company.[1][2].
Any member company of any of the GS1 entities can use all the GLNs they need to identify their different locations.
GLN structure
The GLN is used in electronic data interchange systems such as EDI, GDSN or EPCIS, since it allows an unambiguous form of identification of each company or location. Therefore, only with the GLN can the company, location or center be known as an operational point that intervenes in a commercial transaction within the information system throughout the entire value chain.
This code is made up of 13 digits in total and is structured in three parts:
