Lawn Weeder
Introduction
The brushcutter,[1][2] weeder,[3] edge,[1] mosco, güira, edger[4] or motorsweeper[5] is a machine used in gardening to cut weeds at ground level and to go over places that a lawnmower cannot reach, such as corners and edges. The cutting is done with a nylon thread or blades presented in discs.
It can also be a machine that cuts, presses and crushes the herbs, plants and branches that grow in the field, to achieve faster and more uniform drying of the land. This type of brush cutters can be driven and dragged by a tractor. The cutting units can be mounted underneath the tractor between the front and rear wheels, or mounted on the rear with a three-point hitch.[6].
Operation
Brush cutters work with an engine that can be combustion or electric. In addition, some have included anti-vibration systems to achieve better control; combustion brushcutters also usually include a simple start. The motor is connected to a long, thin bar that ends in the cutting system. The bars can be straight or curved and are provided with handles that can be delta type (a small handle) or double handlebar (grip with both hands to better distribute the weight).[7].
At the end of the bar there is a rotating device responsible for cutting, which can be a polyethylene head or an ABS in which a nylon thread of different thickness is used. For heavier jobs, pieces of steel with different shapes are used, the most common being those with 3 or 4 points.
Brushcutters can also come with a harness or backpack to secure it to the body and facilitate handling by distributing the weight. They have an accelerator that regulates the speed of rotation of the head. In the case of battery-powered brush cutters "Battery (electricity)"), they include the battery in question that can vary its capacity and power, they also include its charger.[8].
