The 2nd edition of the Latin American Biennial of Landscape Architecture awarded the best works of landscape architecture built in Latin America between 2011 and 2016.[1]​.

The event was organized by the Society of Landscape Architects of Mexico together with the Marist University of Mérida.[2]​ It took place on October 8, 2016 in Mérida "Mérida (México)"), Mexico.[2]​.

88 built works and theoretical and research works on landscape architecture from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Uruguay participated in the international call.[3]​.

The organization established as central criteria "respect for the landscape and its values, commitment to sustainability, spatial and material reuse, integration and solution to social problems, environmental regeneration and the integration of cultural actions and heritage conservation."[3]​.

The jury was made up of Gabriel Díaz Montemayor, Raquel Peñalosa, Amaya Larrucea Garritz, Javier Muñoz Menéndez, José Tito Rojo, Manuel Casares Porcel and Claudia Oñate Pechini.[1]​.
