SuRe (Standard for Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure) is a voluntary global standard that integrates key sustainability and resilience criteria in the construction and modernization of infrastructure. Its designation is an acronym of the English words **sustainable and resilient. In turn, the word sure (adjective) means "safe." It has been developed by the Basel Foundation for Global Infrastructure (GIB) and the French bank Natixis.[1]​.

The objective of the standard is twofold: it not only guides project owners towards infrastructure with high performance in terms of sustainability and resilience – taking into account social, environmental, governance criteria and best practices – but it also serves as a tool to communicate those characteristics of sustainability and resilience to potential investors, thus channeling more money to the construction of infrastructure and promoting sustainable socioeconomic development.[2]​

This standard was launched at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21).[3]​.

SuRe® is governed by three administrative bodies (secretariat, standard committee and stakeholder council) in an effort to maintain a balanced representation of stakeholders in the development of the standard and provide transparent safeguards to the process, while ensuring independence and credibility.

The GIB has also developed SuRe® SmartScan, a simplified version of the standard, which serves as a self-assessment tool for infrastructure developers. It provides a broad and rapid analysis of the different topics covered by the standard, offering a solid basis for projects that are considering requesting SuRe® certification in the future. When they finish passing the SuRe® SmartScan, project developers receive an evaluation in the form of a spider web diagram) that indicates the score of their project in the different aspects and compares it with that of other projects.[4]​.
