Andalusia

Asturias

Asturias preserves a rich industrial heritage derived from mining, steel and railways, with unique examples in Spain, such as two steel plants still active in Gijón and another in Avilés, owned by the multinational Arcelor. The first maintains the only two blast furnaces in operation in Spain, and the second still maintains its enormous rolling mills and some other facilities. Throughout the Avilés region there are numerous examples of the last wave of industrialization, related to Ensidesa, such as the town of Llaranes.

The largest number of mine towers on the peninsula are concentrated in the Mining Basins "Mining Basins (Asturias)". The industrial heritage of the autonomous community of Castilla y León is spread throughout its territory and includes a varied number of industrial facilities.

Finally, Alcântara "Alcântara (Lisbon)") was one of the great industrial centers of Lisbon. Currently fully integrated into Lisbon, it was once located on the outskirts of the capital, which is why a large number of industries and working-class neighborhoods were located there. In the nerve center of the neighborhood, near Largo del Calvario, is one of the best preserved factory areas and, although most of the factories have been rehabilitated as homes, dealerships or pubs, their structure and urban planning are still maintained. Another industrial center of great importance is Aveiro and its district. Its estuary was the source of its wealth and, with it, the salt extraction industry; although the production of tiles also stands out with the Jeronymo Pereira Campos Factory, an example of reusing heritage. The Marinha da Troncalhada Ecomuseum was created in its salt flats. Furthermore, outside of Aveiro, but in its district, is the Chapelaria Museum) in São João da Madeira.

Peru

Since 2004, the Peruvian Committee for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage - COPECOPI has been operating in Peru, whose objectives are the conservation, promotion and dissemination of Peruvian industrial heritage. COPECOPI was formed after the IV Latin American Colloquium on Rescue and Preservation of Industrial Heritage was held in Lima in July 2004. This event, organized by the International Committee for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage (TICCIH) and the ELECTROPERU Electricity Museum, had the support of the Chilean committee of the TICCIH and the Mexican Committee for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage, and was transcendental for a group of national participants to led to the mission of creating an organization of this nationality for its conservation. COPECOPI has begun its work with the presentation of exhibitions on railway history and the history of electricity in Peru.
