Health and Safety Regulations
Introduction
The Regulations on Occupational Safety and Health at Work are one of the fields of study of harmonization, among which are working conditions, the involvement of workers and social protection.
Occupational health
The term health is defined by the 1946 Constitution of the World Health Organization as the case of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. It can also be defined as the level of functional or metabolic efficiency of an organism, both at the micro (cellular) and macro (social) levels. Occupational health is built in an adequate work environment, with fair working conditions, where workers can carry out an activity with dignity and where participation is possible to improve working conditions.
Occupational risk
Occupational risk will be understood as the possibility that a worker suffers a certain damage derived from work. To qualify a risk from the point of view of its severity, the probability of the damage occurring and its severity will be jointly assessed.
Occupational health and safety standards.
Working conditions
On the other hand, working condition will be defined as any characteristic of the performance of tasks that cover three different aspects, such as the environmental conditions around the work, the physical conditions in which the work is carried out and the organizational conditions that govern the company in which one works in said country.
All of these factors could be the cause of possible alterations in health and occupational risks in the physical, mental, social or emotional aspects of workers in general, regardless of their occupation and professional category.
