GOST standards (Russia)
Introduction
GOST, abbreviation of Gosudarstvenny Standart (Государственный Стандарт, in English: State Standard) which is a set of international standards of the CIS, developed in the former USSR and currently maintained by the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (EASC for its acronym in English).[1].
In 1992, members of the Commonwealth of Independent States signed an agreement by which they recognized the current national standards of the USSR with the index of the category "GOST" as Interstate, keeping this index behind new or modified interstate standards.
