Googleplex is the headquarters of Google LLC, located at 16000 Amphitheater Parkway, in Mountain View "Mountain View (California)"), Santa Clara "Santa Clara (California)"), near San José (California) "San José (California)"). The name Googleplex is a play on words, being a combination of the words Google and complex (complex, in English), and at the same time a reference to googolplex (googolplex in English), the name given to the enormous number. In late 2006 and early 2007, the company installed solar panels on various roofs of the facilities, capable of producing 1.6 MW (2,175 HP) of electricity through solar photovoltaic energy. At the time of its installation, it was one of the largest facilities in the country. About 30% of Googleplex's electricity needs are met by this project.[3]​.

Googleplex is located between Charleston Road, Amphitheater Parkway, and Waterfront Boulevard in North Mountain View, near Wetlands (Waterfront Park). Employees who live in San Francisco or the East Bay can take a subsidized Google-WiFi shuttle. It runs on domestically grown and processed biodiesel.
