The golden ratio is the formula that Egyptians, Greeks, Romans and other advanced civilizations have been using as inspiration for arts or architecture, as it governs certain patterns of nature. In short, it is a pattern based on a rectangle, which, circumscribed in itself, repeats with certain proportions to infinity. In turn, joining the opposite vertices of the resulting square with the 1/4 circle arc, the result is a spiral. This pattern, incredible as it may seem, governs the way in which virtually every structure in this universe is provided, from the DNA chain to an entire galaxy.
