Gas measurement equipment
Introduction
A gas meter or gas meter (or also gas meter) is a measuring device for determining the amount of gas consumed during a certain period. Gas meters are mainly used in the field of gas supply, but can also be used to accurately measure a quantity in laboratory tests. The unit used to measure the gas spent is the cubic meter. From the difference between each period, the standard billing of cubic meters is made.
To detect the gas flow, most gas meters. They can be manufactured either through mechanical or electronic devices, depending on the technology requested.
Gas meters used on the market are subject to mandatory verification from time to time. There are ordinances (specific to each company) that define the respective periods in which the gas meter will undergo calibration.
For remote meter reading, there is the possibility of equipping the gas meter with remote reading interfaces. Then the manufacturer can do the reading at any time or sporadically. For gas customers with the normal domestic gas consumption structure, the possibility of remote reading is generally not used. On the commercial side, in the case of large Consumers, such as industrial boiler plants, a special gas meter is used for further processing of the measurement of distributed cubic meters.
If the gas pressure at the service connection is more than 23-25 mbar overpressure, most meters have a gas pressure limiter (a pressure regulator) that reduces the high pressure of the gas network.
The first gas meter was built in 1816, by the British Samuel Clegg.
