Forest architecture
Introduction
The Forestal building is a mid-century modern construction located in the Spanish city of Albacete.[1][2][3].
History
The building was designed in 1968 by architect Manuel Carrilero de la Torre on behalf of the Forestal housing cooperative, hence its name.[1][2].
Characteristics
The modern-style building is located in Plaza Benjamín Palencia in the capital of Albacete, in the center of the city.[3] It is made up of 71 homes in three blocks of 12, 19 and 6 floors. It measures 64.85 meters, being one of the tallest buildings in the city.[4].
The materials used for its construction are metal and reinforced concrete. It is one of the most significant buildings of its time. The terraces have a polygonal geometry.[2].
