Introduction
Damián Miguel Mindlin (La Carlota, Córdoba "La Carlota (Argentina)"), January 3, 1966) is an Argentine businessman,[1] recognized for being the executive vice president of Pampa Energía,[2] a company that he founded in 2005 with his brother, Marcelo Mindlin and his other two partners, Gustavo Mariani and Ricardo Torres. Pampa Energía managed to position itself as one of the most important companies in the Argentine energy sector, both in the generation, distribution and transportation of electrical energy and in the transportation and production of natural gas.[3][4].
Since March 2017, he has served as President and CEO of SACDE S.A.,[5] President of Grupo Orígenes and advisor to the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange (BCBS). In addition, Mindlin is director and advisory member of the Latin American Jewish Congress and is vice president of the Tzedaká Foundation, a charitable institution of the Jewish Community in Argentina.[6][7].
Early years and studies
Damián Mindlin was born in La Carlota "La Carlota (Argentina)"), province of Córdoba "Córdoba (Argentina)"), on January 3, 1966. He then moved to Buenos Aires, where he completed his secondary studies at the Doctor Carlos Saavedra de Lamas National School, in the town of Martínez "Martínez (Buenos Aires)"). Then, he entered the University of Belgrano, where he obtained the title of Systems Administrator.
Career
1990s
In 1990, Mindlin joined the IRSA Group as Portfolio Manager and participated in the founding of Grupo Dolphin (today Grupo Emes).[8].
2000s
In 2003, together with his partners Gustavo Mariani, Marcelo Mindlin and Ricardo Torres, they left the IRSA group to focus on the Emes Group (former Dolphin Group).[9][10] This group focused, among other things, on the acquisition of assets within the Argentine energy sector, among which are the acquisition of co-control of Transener, control of Edenor,[11] and some generation plants such as the Central Térmica Güemes, the Nihuiles and Diamante Hydroelectric Plants and the Piedrabuena Thermal Power Plant,[12] which a few years later came together to form Pampa Energía S.A.[13].
