ENAC Accreditation
Introduction
The National Accreditation Entity (ENAC) is, according to Royal Decree 1715 of 2010,[1] the only Spanish body endowed with public power to grant accreditations in accordance with the provisions of European Regulation (EC) No. 765/2008[2].
Function
Its function is to evaluate, through audits, that the conformity assessment bodies (laboratories, inspection, certification and verification or validation entities, among others) are technically competent.
ENAC evaluates conformity assessment bodies that carry out the certification of products and management systems, the safety inspection of facilities, the analysis of food products, the technical inspection of vehicles, clinical analyses, designations of origin, inspection and analysis of emissions and discharges, materials testing, water analysis), greenhouse gas emissions verifications, DNA analysis, legionella inspection and analysis, forensic tests), noise measurement, etc.

International recognition
ENAC is the Spanish representative of the European co-operation for Accreditation") (EA) and signatory of the Multilateral Recognition Agreements (MLA in English), signed between more than 100 countries.[3].
The objective of these agreements is to reduce technical obstacles to trade[4] of products and services by favoring the acceptance of certificates issued by accredited entities, thus eliminating the need to repeat controls and tests in the destination country[5].

In order to manage risk, industrial safety legislation requires certain inspections. Numerous facilities and equipment must be subjected to them with certain periodicities and the person in charge of carrying them out will be a Control Body (OCA) governed by the Industry Law and the Infrastructure Regulation for Quality and Industrial Safety.
