Electronic Notification System
Introduction
Lexnet is a system for managing telematic notifications from the courts to justice professionals (lawyers and attorneys) used in the Spanish Administration of Justice. Lexnet interoperates with Minerva and Cicerone (Valencian Community), Procedural Management systems of the courts promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Justice. Its use is based on the use of a program similar to a webmail mail system that allows, after identification with a certificate and electronic signature with a cryptographic card, to send notifications to professionals from the courts with full legal effects.[1].
The Lexnet system has subsequently included other groups such as the State Attorney's Office and Social Graduates and has expanded its functionalities so that professionals can send writings to the courts and attorneys can communicate transfers of copies to each other.
Lexnet also offers interoperability with other procedural management systems of the autonomous communities with transferred justice powers. In 2010 and 2011 Lexnet was renewed to offer greater performance, ease of use and scalability.
Its use is regulated in Royal Decree 84/2007, of January 26, on the implementation in the Administration of Justice of the Lexnet computer telecommunications system for the presentation of writings and documents, the transfer of copies and the performance of procedural communication acts by telematic means.
Description
Although LexNet is the telematic notification application itself, the notification process from the courts to professionals takes place in two phases.
Although in the first step it is not necessary to use the cryptographic card, in the second part, since the aforementioned notifications must be signed, the card must be previously inserted into the reader. Once sent to the professionals (attorneys and lawyers), there will be an acknowledgment of receipt that will provide reliable proof for all legal purposes of the delivery of the notification.
