Drones for predictive maintenance
Introduction
The Technological Center for Development and Experimentation or CETEDEX is a center dependent on the Ministry of Defense "Ministry of Defense (Spain)"), and attached to the National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA) announced in December 2022[1] and whose construction is projected between 2023 and 2029 in Jaén.
The center will have a main campus of 8 hectares and an advanced testing field of 600 hectares[2] in the Nuevo Jaén Business Park").
Programs
The project located in the north of Jaén, is designed by the architecture firm Morph Estudio in Madrid together with Typsa Engineering.
It is a generative project that develops its proposal by integrating architecture with the existing landscape, adapting to the relief and its environment. The result is a flexible, removable, innovative and circular construction.
Initially, the CETEDEX Campus is distributed through several independent and autonomous buildings and proposes three pillars of action:[3].
Works
The construction of the main campus is made up of two phases:
For its part, receipt of initial capacity is expected in December 2026 and full capacity by the end of 2029.[4].
The project still does not have any specificity in plans or budget. In internal documents of INTA itself, in its 2023 Annual Action Plan[5] it recognizes that the project depends on the approval of the Defense PERTE and the funds finally allocated, which is not even in the draft phase.
At the moment, in mid-2024 and once the enclosure is fenced, if new delays do not accumulate, work is expected to begin at the end of 2024. [6].
Controversy
The announcement of the construction of CETEDEX occurred in the midst of the controversy over the assignment of the Colce Plan") to Córdoba "Córdoba (Spain)"), when the city of Jaén seemed to have the support of the regional and national administrations for the assignment of the Army Logistics Base"), which led to the complaint for prevarication against the Ministry of Defense "Ministry of Defense (Spain)").[7] This decision led to large demonstrations against the perceived towards the province of Jaén "Provincia de Jaén (Spain)"),[8] as well as the rise of the Jaén Deserves More party")[9] and their subsequent participation in the 2022 Andalusian Parliamentary Elections (as part of the España Vaciada platform "España Vaciada (platform)"), in which they were on the verge of getting a seat.
