Digitization
Introduction
Digitization is the process by which analog processes and physical objects are converted to digital format; according to the Dictionary of the Spanish language of the Royal Spanish Academy, it involves the "action and effect of digitizing",[1] verb which in turn can be defined as recording data in digital form "Figure (mathematical)") or, in its second meaning, converting or encoding data or information of a continuous nature into digit numbers, such as a photographic image, or a document, or a book.[2] Specific cases are the digitization of documents and the of movies or images.
In the field of communications, digitization is considered to be the transcription of analog signals into digital signals, which is called the analog-digital conversion process.
In the business field, digitalization is associated with the digital transformation of business, understood as enabling, improving, or evolving business functions, commercial operations, customer management models, and/or communication processes, taking advantage of digital technologies.[3].
