Diagnosis of retaining walls
Introduction
The Huaca Huantille is an archaeological site located in the district of Magdalena del Mar, in the city of Lima, capital of Peru. It is a pyramidal structure that belonged to the Ichma culture (900-1450 AD) and was also occupied by the Incas (1450-1532 AD). It was the main temple of a complex that included five other huacas, which no longer exist. In recent times it was occupied by a group of land invaders; However, in 2006, the area was recovered and research, restoration and enhancement works began.
Location
This huaca is the only archaeological site located in the district of Magdalena del Mar, in the province of Lima. It is a pre-Hispanic settlement that would have been part of the Ychsma manor and was in turn one of the main settlements of the Curacazgo of Lima. It is located in the current district of Magdalena del Mar Jr. Castilla N°1211,[1] belonging to the metropolitan city of Lima. It is surrounded by the Mariscal Castilla (south), Rufino Echenique and Ayacucho (west), José Salas (north) and Rufino Echenique and Huamanga (east) fragments. It occupies eleven thousand square meters, which is equivalent to only 30 percent of its original area, the result of the barbaric devastation it suffered throughout contemporary times.
Antique
The Ychsma, ancient settlers of Huantille, were a group of small nations called Curacazgo, since they were led by a ruler called Curaca. This culture developed during the period from 1200 to 1450 AD. C. However, according to archaeologist Luisa Díaz Arriola, the Ychsma society developed between the years 1000 and 1532 AD. C., and was made up of several curacazgos that settled in the lower valleys of the Rímac and Lurín rivers.
Despite the constant damage that this archaeological monument suffered, Huaca Huntille, according to what was pointed out by Guillen (2007), was the most important building of a group of monuments known today under the name of Grupo Huantille; Among the buildings that were found in the 1940s, Huaca I, Huaca II, Huaca III and Huaca IV, which were located a few meters from Huantille, were demolished.[2].
