Detachment
Introduction
slides or collapses are a type of instability movements produced by lack of support that involve a small amount of land. These are usually rocks that fall down a slope, due to the loss of the support that supported them.
A detachment is defined as any mass separated from a slope or hillside by a generally small cutting surface and whose journey is carried out mainly through the air. The fragments caused by landslides present paths of various types, and the material can fall freely, jump, roll or even any combination of the above can occur. In any case, the detached materials are usually deposited at the foot of the slope or at a certain distance from it, depending on the energy reached by the fragments in their movement.
Landslides or collapses, also called overturns, can include the case of the collapse of a rock column on a cliff, due to erosion at the base of the cliff. There is detachment if the path taken by the fragments occurs totally or partially through the air.
